Young
Carers
Project

Are you or someone you know a young carer?

What is a Young Carer?

A young carer is someone under 18 who helps look after a family member, partner, or friend who needs extra support. This might be because of:

  • a physical disability

  • a long-term illness

  • a mental health difficulty

  • an addiction

Caring can mean lots of different things, like helping with cooking, cleaning, or shopping. It might also mean giving emotional support, looking after younger brothers or sisters, or helping with medication and appointments.

Being a young carer can sometimes feel like a big responsibility, but you’re not on your own. The Hub is here to give you space to relax, have fun, and connect with others who understand.

What is a Young Carer Card?

Being a young carer can sometimes feel like you’ve always got a lot on your shoulders. That’s why we’ve created The Hub's Young Carer Card.

We are a space where you can step away from responsibilities for a while, enjoy yourself, and take part in activities with others who understand what it’s like.

To help you get started, we’re offering a Young Carer Card.

With this card, you’ll receive:
✨ 1 free activity session every week
🍰 £3 to spend at the café

Just bring this card with you, show it to our youth team and we will sort the rest!
